As political permutations thicken, information has leaked of an alleged plot by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, to pick a deputy for his re election bid.
A top government official told Africa Update that Wike is purportedly considering making Niger Delta Activist, Ann Kio Briggs, his deputy, replacing Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo.
The source said though it is unclear if she would accept the offer, the plan is to divide the votes from the kalabari kingdom following recent happenings in the political scene.
The source further alleged that since the emergence of Ojukaye Flag Amachree as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Wike has been running from pillar to post trying to garner support for his reelection.
Recall that APC, has zoned its governorship to the riverine and several kalabari sons, including Tonye Cole, Dumo Lulu Briggs and Dawari George had thrown their hats into the ring.
