Information has surfaced indicating that Former Accountant of Rivers State, Hon. Siminialayi Fubara, has polled the highest number of votes at the Governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that held at the Obi Wali Cultural Center, today, May 25.
A reliable source disclosed to Africa Update that Fubara scored 721 votes while his closet opponent Dr. Isaac Kamalu, had 86 votes.
Other aspirants had the following votes: Hon. Dr. Dax George Kelly – 37 votes; Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo- 36 votes; Chief David Briggs- 4 votes; Chief West Morgan – 4 votes and Bro. Felix Obuah -2 votes.
Africa Update gathered from multiple sources that the Immediate Past Chairman of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, Bro. Felix Obuah, the Immediate Past Secretary to State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo and Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, were not at the venue of the primaries and efforts to get a possible reason behind thier absence was not obtained at the time of this report.
While delegates however did not vote for the Former Deputy Governor, Engr Tele Ikuru, former Minister for Transportation, Dr. Abiye Sekibo, Senator representing Rivers East Senatorial District, Senator George Thompson Sekibo, Senator Olaka Wogu, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Austin Okpara, Former Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Boma Iyaye and the only female aspirant.
