Rivers Governor Fubara Officially Registered into APC Ranks

A significant shift in the political landscape of Rivers State was cemented on Friday as His Excellency, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, was formally registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the nation’s ruling party.

The ceremony, which took place at the Government House in Port Harcourt, was overseen by the State Chairman of the APC, Mr. Tony Okocha, who was present upon instruction from the party’s National Chairman, Mr. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda.

Addressing the Governor during the brief but momentous occasion, Mr. Okocha offered a robust assurance of unwavering institutional backing. He declared unequivocally that the APC would “always be at his beck and call,” guaranteeing the Governor the full support of the party structure within the state.

Mr. Okocha, who personally arrived to present the Governor with his official membership card, spoke of the profound significance of the defection, describing the assignment as a “holy one.” He extended his congratulations to Governor Fubara for his pivotal decision to join the ruling camp, stating he was wholly satisfied with the compelling reasons articulated by the Governor for his move. He affirmed that the Rivers State chapter of the party was fully committed to rendering its support to his administration.

The physical act of enrollment was carried out by the State Secretary of the APC, Mr. Eric Nwibani, who completed the necessary formalities to induct Governor Fubara into the party’s membership register.

The momentous political occasion was graced by several eminent personalities and party stalwarts, including the Minister of Aviation, Mr. Festus Keyamo; members of the APC State Executive Council; former Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo; and a host of other respected party stakeholders.
