The Nigeria Police Force at a press briefing on Friday stated that 1,500 security operatives have been deployed to ensure a peaceful by-election for Port Harcourt Constituency 3 State House of Assembly.
Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Zaki Ahmed, made the disclosure to journalists in port Harcourt.
Recall that the seat became vacant when the immediate past occupier, Victor Ihunwo, contested and won the June 16, 2018 local government election in the state.
Ihunwo had since been sworn in as the Mayor of Port Harcourt city local government council.
