The leadership of the Rivers State House of Assembly has announced the reconstitution of standing committees of the House.
Making the announcement at the Assembly complex on Tuesday, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ikuniyi Owaji Ibani, said the decision was taken to ensure that all members become active participants.
Three lawmakers on the platform of the All Progressives Congress , APC, emerged as chairmen of 3 House committees, while lawmakers on the Platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP also chaired 2 committees.
The committees as reconstituted are as follows:
Victoria Nyeche representing Port Harcourt constituency 1, was made Chairman House Committee on Women Affairs, the Majority leader, Benebo Anabraba, representing Akuku Toru constituency 2, is the new chairman of the House committee on office of the Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service and Pension Board, while the third APC lawmaker, Josiah J. Orlu, representing Eleme constituency is the Chairman House committee on Information, Communication and Technology.
The PDP lawmaker, Innocent Barikor representing Gokana constituency , is the House committee chairman on Special Duties and Emergency relief while the other PDP member, Friday Nubari Nkee, representing Khana constituency 2, is the Chairman House committee on Sustainable Development.
