PDP Finalises Timetable: Screening of National Working Committee Aspirants Slated for Abuja

Abuja, Nigeria—The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally announced the detailed timetable for the mandatory screening of all aspirants vying for positions within its National Working Committee (NWC), ahead of the party’s biennial elective convention.

The critical exercise precedes the impending convention, which is scheduled for the 15th and 16th of November in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State, marking a significant milestone in the party’s internal democratic process.

Screening and Submission Deadlines

The crucial schedule was disseminated in an official statement on Thursday by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, who serves as the Chairman of the National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC).

Governor Fintiri confirmed that the substantive screening of all aspirants seeking various National Offices has been fixed for Tuesday, the 28th of October, 2025. This exercise is set to take place at the NCOC Secretariat Conference Hall, located within the Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja, commencing promptly at 2 p.m.

A crucial deadline has been imposed for procedural compliance: completed Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms must be submitted to the NCOC Secretariat by the close of business on Monday, the 27th of October, 2025. Aspirants are strongly advised to adhere to this timeline to ensure eligibility.

Furthermore, a provision for due process and challenge has been included in the schedule, with the Screening Appeal slated for Thursday, the 30th of October, 2025.

The statement concluded with an instruction for all key players: “All aspirants, critical stakeholders and Party members should note the dates and be guided accordingly,” underscoring the NCOC’s commitment to a transparent and rigorous pre-convention process.
