Edo State Godwin Obaseki, might be on his way out of the All Progressives Congress, APC, if rumours making the rounds are correct. Obaseki visited the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, at the Government House, on June 14, days after he lost his bid to reclaim a second term. You will recall that Obaseki and the National Chairman of the party, have been engulfed in a battle of supremacy, which has led to his disqualification by the screening committee on the grounds that his NYSC certificate is defective. A decision that was ratified by the leadership of the party. Obaseki who looks like the beautiful bride is reportedly been sort after by the Peoples Democratic Party, to further increase the party’s hold on states in the south-south region of the country. Whether Obaseki would be given the PDP’s governorship ticket to tackle the APC in Edo State is unknown but the possibilities are very high.

Later, Obaseki tweeted appreciation for the solidarity and goodwill of Edo people and Nigerians amid the alleged injustice meted out to him by the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) screening committee. The visit, the first by Obaseki since he became governor, came at a time the Edo helmsman is facing fierce opposition from his party, ahead of next week’s governorship primary.
