Former Member of the House of Representatives and a major player in the Etche Political scene, Chief Ogbonna Nwuke, has described the recent resignation of Etche Local Government Area, APC chairman, Chief Musa Elekwa, Â as a ploy to avert his inevitable expulsion due to gross financial misconduct .
In a chat with Africa Update, Â Chief Nwuke said, “We had a liability in the chairman. Many may not know it, there was a petition against him by members of the Local Government Exco of the party and 16 out of 19 ward chairmen.
“The party at the State level was already investigating allegations  of anti-party activities leveled against him.
“The whereabouts of two buses officially released to him by the party are not known. Obviously he sold them.
“Our party constitution requires all party offices at the national, state or local government to open party accounts. For the purpose of achieving his ambition to divert party funds, he dubiously supplied his personal account to the party. This fact is well known to the party. This man knew the party was getting set to expell him for gross abuses.
“This man has no relevance at all and we are glad he is gone for good after forwarding a spurious resignation letter that was authored for him.
“Can you imagine someone whose exit has led his own brothers in Ward 3 – that’s his ward – to kill a goat in celebration? Â That happened today evening,” he stated.
