Mr. President of Nigeria: urgent need for national rebirth

We are all caught up between good or bad depending on which side of the divide you may wish to belong. Most of our decisions in life is based on self entrenchment or selfish preservation of what others may want to have or assess . Our world is a theater of jesters and malicious pretenders, who masquerade as messiahs . The Nigerian nation is a typical of the above and we can’t help ourselves . All the while we have decided to coil our tales in between our legs like a frightened dog ruing under her masters table. How can such a people survive without raising up their voice against their oppressors.

All those who dear voice out their discomfort against the system is either considered enemy or opposition elements. The pertinent question is who is opposing who here, is it the brazen looters of our collective wealth or those calling for moderation ,I think the later is the opposer of a common good will ,and I consider them criminal . We are in a nation where crooks take decision on behalf of the decent ,while we smile and wave at their primitive acquisitions as if they are masters of economic wisdom. When shall we sum up courage to call them thieves and economic rights violators. Those in authorities are worshiped like god’s even without properly articulating our collective aspirations ,that is why they  are proposing a Nigerian made car without a functioning steel plant and a petrochemical industry. In the name of Privatization ,we have watched our collective estate been sold to those who ran them aground in the first instance.

We are nation without one single institution educationally qualified to fit into the realms of first  100th universities in the world, yet we shamelessly proud ourselves giant of Africa. We are only short of appointing an Indian doctor as our health minister since Indian health institutions are our best option as a nation.Soon an English judge will be our CJN since the judiciary have been seriously compromised as evidenced by politicojurispondence coined out from our bench and bar. Party politics is becoming a dangerous game based on our sad gangsterism approach to democratic issues and value’s. Institutions of governance have been personalized and decimated to a pitiable state.Out youths has risen to defend their sovereignty ,instead of beaconing on them with love ,live bullets are freely used on them just to bend their resolve for a better future. Brute force has never changed any reasonable agitation rather reason does. If they can’t voice their displeasure in their country where can they freely do it.

We have gotten  to a sad level where deviants are role models , serial murderers monarchs ,electoral gangsters in red and green chambers, sponsors of terrorist gangs  governors, street gang leaders local government chairmen. Our situation is getting worst daily and the vicious elites thinks that they will be free at the end. I foresee a revolution if the issues raised by this youths and other well meaning citizens are not diligently addressed.   I hope we allow reason  to take away our negative thoughts and for equity to bring into our hearts patriotic spirit of nationhood .Mr president convoke a Sovereign National Conference now. Don’t be deceived that opening the NYSC camps or hasty settlement with ASUU will assuage this young lads that had been serially and brazenly assaulted socioeconomic wise for decades. Most of these young elements had never known what good and quality life is.

They are born in wealth but perpetually wallow in penury. They hear that millions of barrels of crude oil are been drilled in their country daily but they live below one Dollar per day. Nothing can change their mind now than sound assurance that a new Nigeria is possible through the gathering of all ethnic nationalities for new other via constitutional change. The  agitation against police is an agitation for a new national order that’s the home truth . It’s unacceptable that we continue to live in pretense. Time is running our. History is beaconing on you Mr president. Do the needful now or lose all that is left of your name  forever. Those telling you that the current wave of thinking by the young elements will fissile out  are comprehensive destroyers of your person and what the world had ever known you for or thought you were.  Heed the call for national rebirth or go down in history like Hitler.

The choice is open sir. But remember there’s no going for Nigerians to use their God  given natural resources to live a good life.  That I have seen and that has already happened.
” The duty of a leader is to listen to the rhythms of the voice of the people. Where he fails ,he dents  the valour of his stewardship while closing the chapter of his history .  Posterity erases his memory in the heart men and he is left with only a sad reminder of once an occupant of space within a time”.  I said .
Omenazu Jackson stand for national rebirth.
