INEC starts distribution of sensitive materials in Rivers

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers State says it has received all materials for Saturday’s  elections.

INEC director of Information and Voter Education in Rivers State, Edwin Enabo told newsmen that the materials are currently under the custody of the Central Bank of Nigeria in Port Harcourt.

Edwin Enabo said the commission started the distribution of the materials to 23 local government areas today, Thursday. Feb. 21, 2019.

He said: “We are sure now that all sensitive materials for the elections are in Rivers State and they are in the Central Bank .

Now, we have done everything for all the local government areas in the state and the federal officers in charge of the various LGAs  have started to pick up their smart card readers.

We are doing the distribution for local government areas. They will be shared out to all the local government areas today, but they will start picking them up tomorrow”.

The INEC director of Information and Voter Education in Rivers State, Edwin Enabo also enjoined electorates not to lose hope in the commission, ensuring them that the elections will hold this time and it will be a smooth one.

Edwin Enabo said last week’s postponement was done in the interest of all Nigerians.
