INEC finally speaks on Rivers State, set to fix new date for conclusion of election

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has finally broken the ice on the sitution with elections in Rivers State that was abruptly suspended over alleged violence across several polling units.

A copy of the statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye Esq, on March 15, 2019, indicates that the collation process was completed in 17 local government areas, while details for the completion of elections in 5 local government areas, will be released  on Wednesday, March 20, 2019.
