Abuja, FCT – President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday unequivocally tasked the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, to disregard “busybodies and naysayers” and maintain unwavering focus on his mandate to transform Nigeria’s capital city. The President’s directive came during the commissioning of the rehabilitated International Conference Centre, Abuja, which was officially renamed the Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, in his honour.

President Tinubu articulated that the comprehensive rehabilitation of the International Conference Centre signifies a determined effort by his administration “to change the way we do things, to reflect us as people of quality, people of character, people of determination, people of great spirits, that’s what we are.”

He specifically commended Minister Wike for embodying this vision. “I am glad, Nyesom Wike, you are reflecting that. Don’t pay attention to busybodies and the bystanders, and whatever they say. Continue with your good work,” President Tinubu urged. He further lauded the FCT Minister, stating, “You are a transformational leader. You have the vision, foresight and determination to succeed.”

President Tinubu reiterated his administration’s firm belief that modern infrastructure forms the indispensable backbone of economic prosperity. He highlighted the newly rehabilitated conference centre as a tangible reflection of Nigeria’s commitment to regional diplomacy, continental trade discussions, and global partnerships.
