The governorship candidate of Accord Party in Rivers State, Dumo-Lulu Briggs has called for investigation into last Saturday’s violence in Akuku-Toru to ensure justice.
Dumo Lulu-Briggs during his appearance on Rhythm 93.7 current affairs programme, ‘Talk of The Town’, condemned the killing of a senior military office in Abonnema, Akuku Toru Local Government Area.
He warned against turning the incident into a blame game.
” We need a thorough investigation of these issues. People have turned our communities that otherwise are peaceful into theaters of war.
” Elections are meant to elect leaders. People should be allowed to elect their leaders freely. We don’t need these killings and then, of course, the blame game doesn’t help. The amount of hate that we have introduced into our politics is befuddling and I’m very saddened by this.
” We need to investigate these things. My own house in Abonnema, my maternal home was also affected, Dumo asserted.”
The Accord Party governorship candidate, Dumo Lulu-Briggs is blaming politicians in Rivers state for the circulation of weapons into wrong hands in the area.
