The quest by Igo Aguma to return to the office of the caretaker committee of the Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, suffered a major setback today, when a Port Harcourt High Court presided over by Justice George Omereji, threw out an attempt to press contempt charges against some statutory members of the party in the State.

In the ruling this morning, Justice Omereji, held that the case filed by Hon. Aguma was lacking in merit and a N50,000 fine was slammed on him. You will recall that Aguma had gone to court to press contempt charges against Senator Andrew Uchendu, Dr. Sokonte Davies, and other statutory members, who suspended him as Chairman of the CTC, for failing to adhere to the provisions of the APC constitution and disobeying the orders of the court.
