AKULGA Chairmanship: PDP stakeholders announce adoption of Sekibo

A chairmanship aspirant from Akuku Toru Local Government Area, Hon. Rowland Sekibo, has been unanimously adopted as the most preferred candidate by Stakeholders, Leaders and Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This decision was taken at a gathering of the LGA Party stakeholders headed by Chief Ferdinand Anabraba, on Monday April 16, 2018.

In his remarks,  Dr Tammy Danagogo, former Minister of Sports and stalwart of the party in the LGA, described the consensus allowing Hon. Sekibo to contest unopposed, as a landmark decision by the party.

“We have once again proven our unity as a party. There is greater strength in unity. And our decision today goes a long way to show how prepared we are for the 2019 General Elections. I thank all stakeholders for this remarkable show of leadership as it is a landmark decision taken by the leadership whereas, it is indeed, a commendable step” he said.

Meanwhile, Chief Sir (Hon) David .T. Briggs (Chairman, RSSSB) reiterated that, in as much as the leadership consensus is a show of brotherhood, it is also a display of bravery.

“There is no need wasting much time in our own party primaries when we have a greater battle ahead of us in 2019 just like our leader, the Hon. Minister (Dr Danagogo), had earlier said, there is greater strength in unity’ so, Let us reserve our energy for the more pressing challenge of taking over power in 2019. We the stakeholders have all spoken with Rowland, He is a party faithful we have tested and we trust in his sincerity and prowess to lead us all. He will carry everybody along.”

In his speech, the LGA’s PDP Chairman & Former CTC Chairman of Akulga, Hon. Ere Manuel , applauded the entire leadership of the party, for keeping to their words of ensuring the coexistence of Peace in Akuku-toru LGA as all groups have unanimously come together in cohension to further uphold the integrity and interest of the Party.

In His short response, Hon Rowland Sekibo,  JP (The Chairmanship hopeful), cheered the crowd that gathered at the Bob-manuel Open Square in Abonnema, Headquarters of Akuku-toru LGA and appreciated members, leaders and stakeholders of the party for believing in him. He described the decision of the party as an example worthy of emulation.

“PDP always sets the pace for others to follow. On behalf of my family, I thank you all for trusting in me. We will always uphold your trust, and bring in the desired benefits to Akuku-toru when we get to the Council”
