Seventeen caretaker committee chairmen have been kicked out by the Rivers State Governor Chief Nyesom Wike.
Making the decision of the state government known to the press, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu in a statement disclosed that the affected chairmen are to handover to the most senior government official in their respective local government area with immediate effect.
The caretaker chairmen of Asari Toru local government area, Degema Local government area, Opobo/Nkoro local government area, Khana local government area, Gokana local government area and Ahoada East local government area were however spared .
