Wike becomes Kalabari Se ibi dokibo

At a grand civic reception held at Abalama Community in Asari Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, the Amayanabo of Abonnema, King Disreal Gbobo Bobmanuel and other Kalabari Chiefs bestowed the State Governor, Nyesom Wike with the title: Kalabari se ibi dokibo (Translated as One who seeks the good of Kalabari Kingdom).

This title Is the first of its kind bestowed on someone from a different ethnic group, in the history of Kalabari Kingdom.

Notable personalities who spoke at the civic reception poured encomium on the Governor for the developmental milestones recorded in Kalabari Kingdom under his watch.

Professor Nimi Briggs, Chief Fedinald Alabraba, Ann Kio Briggs, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs and Engr. Bekinbo Dagogo Jack were amongst prominent Kalabari sons and daughters who spoke at the event. While Ekine Seki Apu, Iria dancers and other masquerades thrilled the crowd.

Award winning Nigerian musician Flavor and Omalay were on hand to entertain the crowd with best of hip hop while Ace Comedian Godons gave a superlative performance.
