Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has approved the withdrawal of certificate of recognition from His Royal Majesty, Chief Monday Frank Noryaa, Gbenemene Baabe, following the latter’s indictment in cult-related activities within his kingdom.
The disclosure was made in a statement issued on Monday, May 20, by Simeon Nwakaudu, the governor’s special assistant on electronic media.
The governor’s aide also said the traditional ruler was guilty of harbouring cultists, leading to insecurity in the area.
According to Governor Wike, any traditional ruler or government functionary indicted for promoting insecurity will face the wrath of the law.
