war against criminals: Rivers State Govt to destroy 15 waterfronts

The Rivers State Government has issued a seven day quit notice to residents living in shanties within the state capital, from Friday,  July 15 to Thursday,  July 21, 2016.

A statement signed by the Commissioner for Urban Development and Fiscal Planning, Hon. Chinyere Igwe stated that the ultimatum is to enable security agents tackle the increasing crime rate in the state.

He warned residents living in the affected settlements to adhere to the notice to avert the consequences of noncompliance.

The affected shanties are : Urualla,  Elechi beach, Egede, Aukwuzor, Ojike, Afikpo, Abba,  Nnanka,  Emenike,  Akukwa,  Egede,  Timber, Echue,  Obidiasor,  the Rivers State University of science and technology and Nwachukwu.
