It was a bloody day in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital as motorists and Judiciary workers took to their heels as sporadic gunshots were heard around the Judiciary complex, this morning.
Political thugs who came in their numbers blocked main entrances to the Judiciary complex for hours, while onlookers had erroneously linked them to Stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a twist of event, some members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, including the Chairmanship candidate of Ikwerre Local Government Council, Samuel Wanosike and Lawmakers, had allegedly invaded the court premises, paving way for Justice Nwogu to hear a legal process initiated by supporters of Senator Magnus Abe.
Abe had approached a Rivers State High Court secretly to issue an Order to stop the local government Congresses of APC scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, May 12.
His prayers were granted but in the most controversial and violent circumstance, as journalists and publishers were reportedly assaulted by these political thugs.
What most politicians are worried about is the fact that an exclusive APC party affair would have key PDP stakeholders playing pivotal roles to ensure the actualization of the demands of a particular member of the APC.
