A somber incident unfolded along the Gwagwa-Idu railway line in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday, resulting in the tragic death of an unidentified woman.
Police sources confirmed that officers were dispatched to the scene behind Zeberced Company following a report of an incident on the railway tracks. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim lying unconscious, having sustained catastrophic injuries indicative of a collision with a train.
“Upon receiving the report, our operatives were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they found the woman with a crushed head and broken legs,” a police source disclosed.
Responding swiftly, emergency services transported the critically injured woman to Kubwa General Hospital. Despite medical intervention, personnel at the hospital confirmed her death shortly after arrival.
The victim’s remains have been transferred to the hospital’s mortuary, where an autopsy will be performed as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are currently engaged in efforts to identify the deceased and notify her next of kin.
