Two Students of FUTA Drown During their Entrepreneurship Training

The Federal University of Technology, Akure,(FUTA) Ondo State has lost two 300 Level students who drowned while taking part in their Entrepreneurship Training (ENT) today.

The victims are Olabiyi Emmanuel, from the department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering, and Olokun Babatunde Alex from the department of Project Management Technology (PMT) 300 Level.

According to the school’s Student Union president and P.R.O, the incident took place at the laboratory for Fishery and Aquaculture, at the back of the great hall, Obakekere.

When the training ended, four of them agreed to take a selfie on the canoe packed at the venue, during that process, the canoe which the four of them where in, capsized, and they drowned. Two of them narrowly escaped because they could swim, while the other two were rendered helpless and drowned in the process.
