Tonye Cole visits flood ravaged communities, donates relief materials

The internally Displaced Persons’ Camp (IDP), housing people from Obie Clan of Ahoada West Local Government Area, situated at Ahoada East LGA in Rivers State was a beehive of activities when the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Tonye Cole visited on October 15.

Cole who was accompanied by the State Chairman of APC, Emeka Beke and other leaders of the party, paid an unscheduled visit to sympathize with flood victims at Ihuike community in Ahoada East LGA.

He expressed concerns about the untold hardship brought to the people by the natural disaster.

Narrating their ordeal, the victims said their first experiences was in 2012, and at that time, the water came gradually for days ,which enabled residents to move their belongings to unaffected neibouring communities, unlike the 2022 experience that overwhelmed the communities in less than twenty four hours.
