The leadership of the Rivers State Independent Publishers’ Association (RIVPA), yesterday tasked publishers to positively impact on society through unbiased and factual news reports.
The Chairman of RIVPA and publisher of Treasure base newspaper, Prince Dimkpa Alikor gave the charge during the swearing in ceremony of six publishers at the RIVPA secretariat, in Port Harcourt.
He said Newspaper or magazine publishers had the responsibility of adding value to their readers.
On her part, the chairman of the RIVPA Screening Committee and Publisher of Africa Update newspaper, Gloria Boma Harry expressed optimism that the fortunes of RIVPA would turn around with the admittance of the new members.
Also speaking , the RIVPA secretary and Publisher of Eastern delta Times, Warisenibo Joe Johnson gave a chronicle of what RIVPA stands for and admonished the new members to imbibe the tenets of the Association.
