A gun duel between soldiers and suspected sea pirates at the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC)-operated Tunu flow station in Letugbene, Ekeremor council area of Bayelsa State, in the early hours of Sunday, has left four dead.
Africa Update gathered that suspected armed sea pirates, in four speedboats, had reportedly attempted to invade the facility where the soldiers were stationed, leading to a shoot out which resulted in the death of four persons including three military personnel.According to reliable sources, the invasion may not be unconnected with the conflict between the indigenes and the oil firm over the ownership of the flow station.
