Tragedy struck yesterday, in Bonny Local Government Area in Rivers State, when a passenger boat conveying 21 people capsized, after the boat faced a strong windy storm at the middle of the sea.
Africa Update gathered that the passengers were traveling to Port Harcourt from Bonny when the sad incident occurred at about 10am .
Reports revealed that the corpses of three children, a pastor and three others , who were killed in the accident, have been deposited at a mortuary .
The driver and thirteen others, including the mother of the three children sustained injuries.
Confirming the boat mishap, The state Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), could not disclose the number of casualties, saying he did not have details at the moment.
