‘They are planning that forcefully they will eject us to raze Okuru Ama community’ – Benson

Okuru Ama Council of Chiefs, youths, men and women have protested planned forceful take over of their land by Rivers State Government .

The chairman, Okuru Ama community development committee, in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Inisinga Benson, has alleged that several acre of land have been taken over by the state government without compensation.

He stated that ‘they are planning that forcefully they will eject us to raze Okuru Aka community and that is why we came out. We want peace!. If the government wants peace they should come and meet the community . We say No to it’.

They expressed disappointment about the planned take over, despite their support for the Wike led state government.

On his part, the Public Relations Officer of the Okuru Ama council of Chiefs, M.O. Okuru, called on Governor Nyesom Wike to intervene to forestall breakdown of law and order.

Reiterating that the planned forceful ejection will be resisted.
