The Nigerian Environment Society Celebrate 30TH Anniversary , speaks on Environmental issues

 The Chairman of the Nigerian Environmental Society Rivers State Chapter Kinsley Nwogbidi during a courtesy visit to silver bird communications as part of activities to mark it’s 30th anniversary celebration disclosed that burning of domestic waste is a major contributor to the soot in Rivers State ; stating that “waste should be properly managed by sorting the right type of waste into bags either to be recycled for use, incinerated or taken to the thermal dissolve unit ” 

The Chairman Kinsley Nwogbidi advised residents in rivers state to stop burning domestic waste to reduce the soot in the atmosphere , he described waste burning as crude and unacceptable.

The Chairman of the 30th anniversary celebration committee  of the  NES Rivers State  Daminabo atuboyedia said the society will use the celebration to create awareness on various environmental issues in rivers state and also to introduce members to the most recent standards for serving the public  via refresher courses within the period. Correspondent ugochuchukwu iwuchukwu said” The Nigerian Environmental Society would visit one of its oil impact sites in Eleme as part of its tour to mark the 30th anniversary of the association “.
