The Rivers State Government has raised alarm over the possible outbreak of a strange hemorrhagic fever which is the milder version of Lassa fever and ebola .
The Director of Public Health at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Nnana Onyekwere said a female patient has been quarantined at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching hospital where she exhibited symptoms of this strange fever known as Dengue fever.
Stressing the need for the proper care and treatment of aminals as a way of reducing infection and transmission of ailment by 61%, he said the dengue fever has similar symptoms with Lassa fever and Ebola such as bleeding, hotness of the body and fever depending on which organ is affected .
He further stated that the virus can also speed through a particular specie of mosquitoes and advised citizens to observe high levels of hygiene.
