Stampede kills 15 at APC presidential rally in Port Harcourt

The  death toll from the stampede that occurred on Tuesday, 12 February during the All Progressives Congress presidential rally in Port Harcourt has risen to 15.

The management of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), confirmed this in a statement released on Wednesday, 13 February in Port Harcourt.

The statement signed by its public relations officer,  Mr Ken Elebiga and posted on the University website said the casualty data from the hospital’s accidents and emergency department revealed that 15 bodies comprising  of 3 males and 12 females were brought in dead from the stampede scene.

The statement further said 12 others who sustained injuries are being treated at the hospital and now responding to treatment.
