The sleepy town of Kurutie (Little London), another community in Gbaramatu kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, and hometown of former Niger Delta Militant, Government  Ekpemupolo also known as Tompolo, was stormed by six gunboats at about 4.30 a.m, today (Monday) , hunting for members of the Niger Delta Avengers.

The soldiers berthed their gunboats at the jetty belonging to Tompolo’s father and quickly cordoned the community. They embarked on a house to house search for militants who have launched renewed attack on oil facilities belonging to Multinationals in the Niger Delta Region.

Africa Update gathered that Tompolo’s father was not in Kurutie,  at the time the soldiers arrived  but an over 70-year-old man, simply identified as Do Good Ikekama, was among citizens the soldiers purportedly forced and  molested to accompany them on the search. The soldiers, according to reports, left the community at about 6.30am ‎.

It will be recalled that the Gbaramatu monarch, HRM Oboro Gbaraun II, and other stakeholders had urged the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brigadier General Paul Boroh (retd) to ensure that soldiers conduct their duties professionally .
