Soboma George’s murder trial stalled as hoodlums kill security men

Two security men have been strangled to death, and two others are currently undergoing treatment at an undisclosed hospital as a result of injuries from machete attack last night at the Judiciary Complex in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital. The Chief Security officer attached to the complex asked workers  to go back home  following the discovery of the corpse of the security men, this morning. He said it was unsafe for workers to occupy the premises,  when the motive of the killers are not known and promised them of their return to their offices when the complex is certified safe. Our source at the Judiciary disclosed that a very critical case involving the murder of a former militant leader, Soboma George , who was killed six years ago was scheduled to hold at Justice Omereji’s. Court today and tomorrow and alleged that the attack may be connected to the hearing proposed to commence today. Meanwhile,  counsel to the three accused persons in the alleged  murder of Soboma George, Mr. Ken Asuette said his office was vandalized by hoodlums yesterday and sporadic shooting was heard yesterday around the port Harcourt prison.  Confirming the killings, the Police Public Relations Officer,  Ahmad Muhammad said the Rivers State Police Command has commence investigation. There are also, unconfirmed insinuations that the attacks may be connected to purported claims made by boys loyal to the slain leader that the suspects would languish in prison custody in Aba, Abia State and Uyo,  Akwa Ibom State.
