No fewer than six real estate marketers from Lagos were abducted during an inspection visit to a land site in Ogun State, triggering a massive manhunt by security agencies.
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday when the victims, working for a Lagos-based firm, traveled to Oyebola village in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state to inspect their company’s property. The marketers were reportedly on site to gather information necessary for selling the land to prospective public buyers.
The State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, confirmed the distressing incident late Sunday.
“They brought some marketers from Lagos to come and see the land so that they can have the requisite information to market the land for the members of the public who are interested,” Ogunlowo explained. “It was during their visit to this land that the six people were abducted.”
The Commissioner confirmed that the command was immediately alerted to the situation and that investigations are currently underway.
CP Ogunlowo assured the public that the security apparatus is fully mobilized to ensure the swift and safe recovery of the victims. “The command had been on it since, and we shall definitely ensure that these people regain their freedom,” he affirmed.
The police have intensified their search efforts and are collaborating across various formations to secure the release of the six kidnapped individuals and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the abduction.
