Senator Akpabio, others visit HRM King Ateke Tom, solicit support

In a bid to foster peaceful operations of Federal Government Interventionist Agencies in the Niger Delta Region, the Hon Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Chief, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, on Thursday January 14, visited the Palace of HRM King Ateke Michael Tom JP, the Sekuro of Niger Delta and the Amayanabo of Ancient Okochiri Kingdom.

This move was contained in a statement signed by Comrade Gabriel Tomoni Allen. Media Aid to HRM King Ateke Michael Tom JP, and made available to Africa Update. The statement further stated that “the meeting with HRM King Ateke Michael Tom, other Ex- Warlords with the Federal Government Niger Delta Interventionist agencies lasted for several hours, were critical issues were discussed for the peaceful, effective and impactful operation of the Agencies created to ameliorate the sufferings of the Niger Delta peoples devoid of Political Sentiments, Witch hunting and setbacks, which in the past hindered the actualisation of their aims and purposeful objectives as a result of political sentiments and self Aggrandizemet.”

The Coordinator Presidential Amnesty program (PAP) Col. Milland Dixio Dixon, the Sole Administrator Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Barr, Effiong Akwa, High Chief Bibopre Ajube (Gen, Shoot at Sight) Comrade Ebikabowei Victor Ben (Gen, Boyloaf) amongst other Niger Delta Leaders were at the meeting.
