Five police vehicles, comprising two trucks and two pick up vans and heavily armed policemen blocked access on both end of the street directly in front of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), secretariat on Sunday,
A detachment of policemen were also seen at the entry into the secretariat. This move, according to our source is aimed at forestalling any breach of the law following the dual convention of the party which held simultaneously in Port Harcourt and Abuja, on Saturday.
Africa Update gathered that the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, had given the directives for security personnel to take over the party secretariat in Abuja.
It will be recalled that the opposition party which has had series of crisis was further plunged into quagmire following Saturday’s controversial convention.
