A tanker explosion which occurred near Koko junction section of the Benin/Sapele Expressway, Ethiope West Council area in Delta state on Wednesday has reportedly burnt atleast 17 people to death.
Africa Update gathered that four vehicles were destroyed by the explosion which occured around 8am. Eyewitness account revealed that the petol laden truck was trying to manoeuvre a bad spot, when it lost control and fell. The driver had gone to report the incident to relevant authorities, when residents rushed to the scene to scoop the petrol, when the explosion occurred. Police sources however said only three persons died in the inferno.
