The Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Phoenix had a Water Sanitation and Hygiene project at the Elekahia Women Market in Elekahia Community in Rivers State on August 25.
The market cleanup was carried out in cooperation with the traders and customers.
While the need for proper hand washing, excreta management, solid waste management, waste water management was reiterated, talks were also given on Water Sanitation and hygiene, as practices that help maintain healthy and prevent the spread of diseases.
In order to sustain the clean environment of the market, the Rotary Club donated sanitation and cleaning tools to the market community like brooms, rakes with personal protective equipment like gloves and nose masks for their safety.
The President of the Club, Rotarian Ozoya Esezobor and other members of Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Phoenix made Elekahia Women Market community feel the Magic of Rotary.
