Rotary Club of PH Abuloma empowers 15 traders, as Omobolaji Ajayi takes over as President

About 15 women have received grants to boost their businesses under the Women Entrepreneur Empowerment Project of Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Abuloma.

The women received ₦30,000 each to invest in their existing businesses, the recently Installed Club President Rtn. Omobolaji Nkem Ajayi told Africa Update.

Rtn. Ajayi disclosed that his Rotary Club has earmarked over ₦4 Million to execute Service Projects in the 2023/2024 Rotary year.

The Service Projects according to him includes, Anti Natal care (Ultrasound Scan subsidy), Rotary Family Health day, cervical cancer prevention/ awareness campaign and screening for prostrate cancer, placing of hand wash signage in restrooms of public and corporate buildings, District grant project,peace building visits to Abuloma and Okuru Community elders, women and youth groups.

Other projects are: Back to school project, reward for excellence awards (one from each of the interact host schools), and plant a tree project – protect our environment awareness campaign.

The new Board of Directors to oversee the affairs of the club and execute the service projects are as follows: Ovunda Jack Omodu- Vice President, Ngozi Madukaejiaka – President elect/ membership chair, Henry Wofuru Eberechi- Immediate Past President, Nneka Nnando- Secretary, Odimaa Douglas – Treasurer, Jonathan Kaura – Polio Chair, Ochuko Edeki- Project Chair, Mirian Sylvia Elodi- Public Image Chair, Chidinma Opara- Rotary Foundation Chair, Anna Otonye Bob-Mamuel- Club Admin, Dele Ebose – Youth Service Chair and Urang Ogutute- Sergeant -at-Arm.
