Rotarians commence free Polio immunization in Rivers State

Following the outbreak of wild polio virus and cVDPV in Borno State in August, 2016, Rotarians have concluded plans to commence a national immunization plus days (NIPDs) in 36 states of the country, including Abuja .

Speaking to newsmen, as part of sensitization, ahead of the 4-day vaccination exercise,  President of Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Garden City, Rtn Gloria Boma Harry, encouraged parents to take advantage of the free immunization,  and ensure that their children are vaccinated against the deadly poliomyelitis.

Harry revealed that children in 23 local government area in Rivers State will benefit from the program organized by the Nigeria National PolioPlus Committee, which will commence from March 25 and come to an end March 28, 2017.
