The Rivers State Independent Publishers association, Â RIVPA, says the need for peaceful coexistence between ethnic groups in the state and country is critical to the survival of democracy.
RIVPA Chairman, Gloria Harry, said this call has become necessary following ethnic and religious induced crisis across the country.
Harry observed that the celebration of the Nation’s independence should remind citizens of the sacrifices of our heros past and their dreams for a united nation.
She encouraged citizens to explore dialogue and constructive criticism, which are major ingredients in the Democratic process rather than violence.
