About Twelve persons who reportedly attacked supporters of the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abukakar, have been arrested by security operatives attached to the Rivers State Police Command.
Commissioner of Police, Okon Effiong, made the disclosure on Wednesday, during a meeting with political parties and their candidates in Port Harcourt.
Effiong noted that the Command has intensified investigation into the attack and warned that anyone linked to the incident will be prosecuted.
Recall that video clips and pictures of the said attack had gone viral on Monday. Multiple sources had alleged that some supporters of Atiku were attacked in Omuma local government area while trying to put up campaign materials of the PDP presidential flagbearer.
