The Diobu vigilante group in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State, has decried the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, directing all vigilante groups and individuals to submit arms in their possession.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the spokesman, Amatoru Epelle, disclosed that the group would withdraw their services from April 1, 2018, because they can not engage criminals without the needed ammunition.
He however uged the Police authorities to beef up activities to combat the menace that would arise from the IG’s directive.
