Tragedy was averted yesterday at Alakahia-Akpo community in Obi/Akpo Local Government Area, when a three storey building under construction collapsed about 5am in the morning .
Eyewitness account revealed that the collapse was due to unprofessional practices of the site engineer, who is at large as at the time of this report.
No casualties were recorded, but the security man attached to the building sustained injuries. Residents of the community are calling on the Rivers State Government to intervene and ensure that buildings are constructed according to structural design .
