Local Government Coordinators of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, have been charged to ensure that citizens in their various communities are sensitized about the need to add their voices to the struggle for a better Niger Delta Region.
This charge was given by PANDEF Chairman, Rivers State Chapter, Chief Sampson Agbaru, during the inauguration of 23 L.G.A coordinators on Thursday, November 1, in Port Harcourt.
Agbaru, who was represented at the inauguration, by the Vice Chairman, Chief Opaks Harry, said the Niger Delta Region and Rivers State in particular, will achieve remarkable growth if ward and unit coordinators of PANDEF are urgently inaugurated.
In her remarks, the PANDEF Secretary, Ibitomie Dappa Biriye, tasked the LGA coordinators to interact with their various ward and unit structures with the view of extracting information that would facilitate the compilation of a compendium, that would showcase the needs of these communities and also serve as a blueprint for development.
She reiterated that the role of the compendium is critical because it will ensure the provision of projects that are useful to these communities and end the trend where a politician’s desires are foisted on communities.
