Rivers State: One fisherman killed, five others missing in creeks

A fisherman, Jackson Okpada is reportedly dead while five others are missing, when naval personnel reportedly shot at fleeing criminals.

An eyewitness and youth leader of Ogbolo Community around Bonny creeks, in Rivers State, Clement Alalibo, said ” we saw navy gunboat last week Wednesday,  on the 11th of May, patrolling our River. We don’t know why they were patrolling,  but on that process, they saw some hoodlums ”

He narrated that the naval officers had chased the hoodlums from the bonny axis and shot sporadically,  killing the fisherman while five others jumped into the creek and are missing .

He reiterated that Naval Authority and the Rivers Stated Government should investigate the incident and bring the culprit to book.
