Rivers State Government has announced the proposed closure of the Eastern by-pass to vehicular traffic to facilitate ongoing construction work. A government special announcement released to the media today reads: This is to inform the General Public that Eastern By-Pass will be closed to Vehicular Traffic from the 24th of March 2021 to the 23rd of April 2021.
There will be no access from the Eastern By-Pass Roundabout or the Marine Base Roundabout into Eastern By-Pass. This closure is necessitated by the need to promptly execute excavation and earthworks in the ongoing road dualization project before the onset of inclement weather conditions.
