Traders have expressed joy and excitement over the reopening of the Rumuokwurusi Town Market popularly called Oil Mill market, which was shutdown by the Rivers State Government on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, in a bid to prevent the spread of the dreaded coronavirus. Making the decision known, Commissioner of the Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr. Sunny Ejekwu, said the Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike, has graciously given his approval for the reopening of the market.
In a related development, the Executive Chairman of Rumuokwurusi Town Council Chief Clifford Wali. has expressed gratitude to the Governor on behalf of the people of Rumuokwurusi for the gesture. A statement by the Chief of Staff Rumuokwurusi Town Council, Wehere Sidney Terrence, further commended the people of Rumuokwurusi for their patience and understanding.
