Rivers State: Electoral commission commences display of voters’ register

Ahead of the June 16, Local Government Council elections, the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission has commenced the display of voters’ register in 4 442 polling units.

The Chairman and Chief Electoral officer of the Commission, Justice C. Oriri (Rtd), told newsmen at the Rumuigbo Civic centre, ward 12 and 15 in Obio/Akpo local government area, that then essence of the display of the voters’ register,  is to enable eligible voters verify their names before the commencement of the elections.

He assured the public of the commission’s resolve to conduct a free and fair election.
