The Rivers State Government on behalf of the people of the State has announced the burial ceremonies of His Royal Majesty, Nyeweli Umunakwe Nyeche Nsirim, Paramount Ruler and Apiti of Rumueme Kingdom in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
A statement by the Chairman, Burial Organizing Committee, Hon. Frank A. Owhor, JP, DSSRS, said the funeral arrangements would be as follows:
Day One:
Thursday, March 23, 2023; Variety and Night of Tribute and the venue is Obi Wali Cultural Center and the time is 5pm.
Day Two:
Friday, March 24, 2023; Valedictory Session at the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers Secretariat and the time is 9am.
Still on the same day, Friday 24, 2023, there will be a brief stop over at his maternal home at number nine (9) Orakwo Mgbuosimini, Rumueme, Port Harcourt at 12noon.
Again, on the day, Friday March 24, 2023, there is going to a service of songs at St John’s Anglican Church, Rumueme Port Harcourt at 4pm and finally….
Day Three:
Saturday, March 25, 2023, funeral service will take place at St John’s Anglican Church, Rumueme, Port Harcourt and the time is 10am.
The statement invited the public to honour the quintessential statesman and political strategist, Nyeweli Umunakwe Nyeche Nsirim, Paramount Ruler and Apiti of Rumueme Kingdom.
