Cultists and Kidnappers caught by security operatives in Rivers State, would now be sentenced to death, following the approval of the death penalty proposed by the Executve.
Rivers State Cult and Similar Activities (Prohibition Amendment No.1) Bill 2018 and Rivers State Kidnap (Amendment No.2 Bill) of 2018, were passed into law by the Rivers State House of Assembly, on Thursday.
The controversial Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Bill 2018, was also passed into law on Monday, despite objections raised by Lawmakers on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Victoria Nyeche and Friday Nke-eh, challenging the rationale for community based security outfit to bear arms.
